Elephant Sanctuary Kuala Gandah
Further down into the park the live elephants can be found, in open cages where the audience can get really close, and are able to feed the elephants for their daily consumption of fruits and vegetables. An average adult Asian elephant eats 300 kilograms of food and drinks 160 litres of water every single day.
Elephant Preservation
After the lunch, a video documentary is shown, in which the preservation of the natural habitat and the relocation of elephants in Malaysia is highlighted.
Once the adult elephants arrive to the arena, small central amphitheatre, which can host about 500 people, the different elephants are presented to the audience, with an explanation in Bahasa Malayu and English, after which guests can feed the elephants from the large baskets full of fruits.
It’s time for their daily shower, and from the river banks the visitors can watch an elephant bathing session accompanied by their guides. For both animals and guests a pleasant experience.
